Back in the 1960s, Desmond Ford and I taught together at Avondale College in Australia. These were happy days during which we enjoyed spiritual and theological unity. In the late seventies and early eighties, we taught together at Pacific Union College in the U.S.A. It became painfully obvious that we were no longer on the same theological frequency. Because of the differences between us, three times the president of the college arranged for us to present our respective views to a committee consisting of the administrators of the college and the entire Religion Department. After much prayer and bible study, I contested Ford's view of forensic-only (legal-only) justification. It was my view then, as it remains to this day, that Ford's concept of justification is the premise of his rejection of the Bible doctrine of the pre-advent, investigative judgment. This present document is the biblical answer to Ford's commentary on Romans, "Right With God, Right Now".
