The American society is aging. The elderly population is the fastest growing age group in America. Aging is associated with many physiological and anatomical changes. Older adults and elderly suffer from a number of health conditions including heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, heart burn, constipation, osteoporosis, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The cost associated with treatment of these health conditions is raising yearly. Government officials worry that the increasing cost of treating these health conditions will bankrupt the nation. Yet, all of these health conditions are preventable. The principles outlined in this book can prevent or delay their occurrence and in some cases reversed them. These principles are based on solid evidence gathered over the last few decades. Consequently, adopting these recommendations will not only alleviate human suffering but help to save our health care system. Roman Pawlak PhD, RD PB 219pg.
