Numerous books and articles have been written on the subject of why we have many modern translations of the Bible. Many of those materials favor to praise them, others speak against them. The author of this work shows that the most important factor in presenting the truth on the subject is to give the reader unobstructed, unbiased view into the history of the origins of the written Word of God and its translations. Facts must speak for themselves. He is not trying to sway the reader one way or the other. Based on all historical facts, and his personal experience available to him by the time of writing the book, however, he does have his own, personal conviction on the matter. Those (many of the facts, and his experience) make this work the more valuable, since they have not been found in any other book on the subject available to him.
One of the striking indications of the verity of his discoveries is how he links the seemingly non-related historical events and persons directly to the efforts of the modern translators and their works. Those persons and events are the so-called Church Fathers, the Gunpowder Plot, the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, the Oxford movement, the “discovery” of the Codex Sinaiticus, the story of the Septuagint, the missing pages from Aleppo Codex, the modern ecumenism, and many others.
