Attempting to address the controversies regarding the nature of the Godhead, which have recently shaken the Seventh-day Adventist church, is difficult due to unbiblical statements from “trinitarian” theologians in Adventist publications, artfully meandering beliefs and arguments of “anti-trinitarians” and the almost universal acceptance from both groups of the higher critical removal of the Johannine Comma. Any classification of belief that is asserted by one group will be immediately denied by someone in the other group as there are a multitude of varied understandings of the Godhead. The very same verses and quotations are claimed by both groups to support opposite conclusions. Despite the difficulties, God has provided his infallible Word and the Testimony of Jesus, manifest among his last day remnant people, to guide us through this controversy that has confused and divided our Church. We may confidently settle into the truth, but this will not be accomplished by reading what the pioneers said, or by pointing to the conflicted statements of the theologians, or by listening to someone defend our preferred position online, but by a plain “thus saith the Lord.” Though none of these previous three are inherently evil, we, as Bereans, must make the preserved Word of God the authority by which we judge all other authorities. "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20 Martin Klein PB 66 pg
